Ingredients
  • 1 pound walnut halves
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  2. Roast walnuts for 8-10 minutes until they become fragrant and begin to turn golden brown.
  3. In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, milk, cinnamon, and salt. Attach a candy thermometer and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the mixture, without stirring, until it reaches 240°F (115°C), or until a small drop forms a soft ball in cold water.
  5. Remove from heat and immediately stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Add roasted walnuts to the pan and coat them thoroughly in the mixture.
  7. Spread the coated walnuts onto wax paper and use a fork to separate any clumps. Let them cool to room temperature.
