Ingredients
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ¾ pounds Italian sausage
  • 4 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 8 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 cans diced tomatoes, undrained (14.5 oz each)
  • 4 cans tomato paste (6 oz each)
  • ½ cups water
  • ¼ cups sugar
  • ¼ cups Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • ¼ cups fresh parsley, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil or 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano or 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried marjoram
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Hot cooked spaghetti
Procedure
  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, Italian sausage, onions, and garlic over medium heat. Drain the excess grease.
  2. Transfer the cooked meat mixture into a slow cooker.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, water, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, oil, parsley, basil, oregano, bay leaves, sage, salt, marjoram, and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  5. Discard the bay leaves before serving.
  6. Serve over hot cooked spaghetti.
